Inspiring...
Thanks to Nick for sharing this webpage with me. I am inspired to hear about Jacob's life story thus far and look forward to hearing about his success' as he grows-up.:)

We are taking our three grandchildren to the HyVee on 23rd st. in Independence after church today....as we feel they need to be aware of those children around them who have health concerns and learn that through our donations, those children can be helped.

Thank you for sharing Jacob's story
Dear Mark & Cheryl - my grandson, Benjamin Brewer, was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma, Stage IV high risk but not amplified, in February, 2004. He was 2 1/2 years old at the time. We had never heard of Neuroblastoma. I started searching the internet to find out what this monstrous disease was really like. The very first night, I came across Jacob's story. I made copies of it to give to my daughter and son- in-law to read to bolster their hopes. I kept a copy of it with me all the time. It gave me some idea of what to expect from the treatments and a great deal of hope that Benjamin would survive this horrible disease. If Jacob had survived, then there was hope that Benjamin would survive. I've read every news article that my google searches turn up regarding Jacob. It appears that he is not only surviving, he's thriving. And so is our Benjamin. Today he had his broviac catheter removed. Treatment is finished and he is NED. Benjamin was placed on Protocol A-3973 for treating high risk Neuroblastoma. We learned that Ben would have to endure six rounds of chemotherapy, surgery to resect his primary tumor, an antilogous stem- cell transplant, radiation therapy, and a six-month course of 13 cis- retinoic acid (Accutane). He did participate in the antibody study ch14.18 at Children's Hospital in Columbus. I just wanted to let you know that your story gave me hope from the very first night, that Benjamin would survive. I read your story and prayed every day and at every crisis - and you know there were many. Thank you for sharing your family's nightmare with all of us Neuroblastoma families. It helped us survive our own nightmare. May God hold all of our precious survivors in His hands and keep them safe. Perhaps you get many emails like this one. I hope you do because you should know how much you are helping the rest of us. May God bless us all, Pat Washburn

Thank you
You are a shining star in this dark world of Neuroblastoma. Our son was diagnosed in 2/04 at stage IV and has gone through many of the same treatments you have. Thank you for providing us with hope! Ben is currently NED and we are hopeful that he will remain cancer-free! Visit us at www.benbrewer.org.

GREAT website!!!
Hi guys! Everytime I see a picture of Jacob I can't help but think how much he and Daniel look a like! Wow! I will never forget coming upon Mark's article shortly after Daniel was diagnosed back in 2001, and the HOPE that filled my heart when I read it. And boy did we need some hope! We will also never forget how incredibly helpful you both were to us --many, many times. You truly helped us get through those days. We are forever grateful to you! This is such a great website! We will check back often and keep in touch! Wishing you all continued blessings and good health in 2006!! Jacob you are a true inspiration! With Love, The Hammer's

Hi, I am the Dad of AJ, a 14 year old cancer victim. I wanted to make you aware (maybe again) and enlist your help for the Cure Childhood Cancer petition! The GREAT news is that CureSearch, LIVESTRONG and Alex’s Lemonade Stands have ALL written about the Petition on their websites! And TX Children’s and DUKE have both allowed us to setup paper versions inside the hospitals! WE ARE MAKING HEADWAY and are at over 11,000 signatures! But we need your help again. If you can please make your readers aware, email it around again, and give just a little publicity, I think we can make this happen! Thanks again, AJs Dad http://www.thepetitionsite.com/1/CureChildhoodCancer

A Good Read
Hey, really good site and best of luck! I received a children's book in the mail that helps children come to terms with a parents cancer. It's aimed at younger children and is both thoughtful , warm-hearted and even get’s the kids to help out more around the house. The author Linda McCowan is also the illustrator and you can buy her book "Cancer Rhymes with Dancer" by going to her website at http://www.cancerrhymeswithdancer.com. My kids read it and loved the illustrations, several which are shared on that author’s site. Mel Wilson

Hello
Greetings to you, With Due Respect and Humanity, I was compelled to write to you under a humanitarian ground. My name is Olivier Sosnitskaya from Russia, I am married to Mr. Steven Sosnitskaya a director of an Oil firm in Russia . We were married for few years without a child afterwhich he died of a Cardiac Arteries Operation. Recently, my doctor told me that I would not last for the next six months due to my cancer problem (cancer of the liver and stroke). As a result of this I wish to donate 6.9 million american dollars which my late husband has left in a finance house before he passed away. I have decided to donate this fund to an honestand responsible person anywhere or anyplace who understands and feels the pain of the lonely one suffering from this deadly disease called cancer. So I am sending out this message massively to actually know how you can utilize this funds for the purpose. The purpose for the money is to support the less priviledged people, orphanages, widows and more especially the cancer affected people in hospital or at home who may not be able to afford their medical bills. I took this decision because I do not have any child that will inherit this fund, and I do not want in away where this money will be used in an ungodly way. This is why I am taking this decision to hand you over this Fund. I am not afraid of death hence I know where I am going. I want you to always remember me in your daily prayers . Write back as soon as possible any delay in your reply will give me room in sourcing another person for this same purpose. Hoping to read from you ASAP. God bless you as you listen to the voice of reasoning, Yours Sister in Christ Mrs Olivier Sosnitskaya
